For years and years now, I've been toying back and forth with different things to create. Story ideas, video ideas, video game ideas, board game ideas, song ideas, and even down to just art in general. And after all that time, I finally get it now.
I was never creative. I don't have it in me.
Every time I tried to create something, it wasn't necessarily out of fun or because I enjoyed the process. Most of the time, the steps it took to make an idea come to life, just felt like a tedious barrier in between me and the art I wanted to see exist. For some reason, it was never about the enjoyment of the creation process.
I just wanted quick ideas to hurry up and exist. And a lot of times, I would end up trying to make something come into existence, just for the purpose of being able to tell the story. If I wanted to write a book, I would fart out the most pointless short story and call it a day. Song idea? Farted. Idea for a comic strip? Farted, then get bored after coming up with just one.
I don't have an actual vision to see things come to life. I don't have the natural ability to observe the world around me and feel inspired to give back to it in an expressive way. I don't have any of that. Everything I attempted to do was soulless and out of another motive. But I shouldn't do that. I shouldn't make things that end up having no other reason to exist.
But that's okay. I'm surrounded by countless other people that do have the spark to create some amazing things. Things that I never would've dreamed of seeing. Things that give me a whole new perspective on the world around me. Things that leave me in awe. That is a feeling that I have attempted to create myself, but have failed. So now, I'm not doing it anymore.
I'm officially giving up any attempt to be creative.

Hi all, First, I had indicated the parts where the job seemed like a scam in bold.
I am a student, looking for a job on LinkedIn. When I stumbled upon this post for a "community builder". I read the requirements and said to myself okay this connects with my values. The business is developing an NFT, however, they claim that the company's coin is backed by real assets. The assets are apparently real fig trees, that they plan to grow in the upcoming February. Initially, it seemed like a scam, nevertheless, I contacted, got a response, and an interview.
The interview happened with a real person face-to-face, who contacted me through LinkedIn. His photo on LinkedIn and on the webpage was indeed his face, so he wasn't a fake person. He instructed that he already interviewed 2 candidates, one from Romania, one from Nigeria(candidates are Not from highly developed countries). In the interview, he explained in proficient English about the business(selling "NFTrees") 69DOLLAR per NFTree. The business goal(Every sold NFT they plant a tree). The business makes leads through telegram and discord. The target group is people into crypto/sustainability, vulnerable. All the questions were answered quite straightforward, even when asked whether this is a scam he explicitly said that this NFT is actually based on real assets again.
Finally, when I started to make research about the company, it works through selling NFT's on "venly" platform, venly does not seem like a popular platform, the interviewer also mentioned that they are going to sell the coin first on smaller platforms. the details of the company are not mentioned on the web pages, however, they provided me with a business Identification number, and it was real, the management were also written in the business registration of Estonia and they are the same people on LinkedIn and the website. Nevertheless, when researching about these people you can only find descriptions of their identity on their platform and Linkedin.
Overall, I am always critically thinking and Linkedin somehow brings me this vibe that a lot of the posts are fake. I do believe in blockchain's success, however, a concept like this is untangible. I am really keen on learning what do you guys think?

Some Items for the Fallout 76 Development Team
Hello to whom it may concern,
My name is Mike. I am an avid player of Fallout 76. I have had FO1st since February of 2021, and my character is level 570 at the time of writing. I have spent more than 200 dollars in the atom shop, so please, take the time to read this in it’s entirety.
If you are with me, great. If not, here is a TLDR:
I know a bit about balancing games and here’s a bunch of stuff you could do that would increase your player base, while making the game more immersive and fun in a lore friendly way. All while staying true to original intent of the game’s design.
First, a bit about me. I am a LARPing veteran with experience running mid scale medieval battles. The games I play (such as Dagorhir, Belegarth, Amtgard, and various other larping formats) are physical medieval combat games within the real world. I have experience organizing around 30 to 150 people on a field and CREATING and TWEAKING game rules to maximize fun, immersion, playability, and fairness.
If there is one thing I know, designing a good game (with the above mentioned all in mind) is hard.
Okay, so now into the meat of this. Let me give you what I think will help. Feel free to use any advice or information without notifying or rewarding me in any way. I give every word of this communication freely with no claim to intellectual property. I just really hope this game improves.
First Issue: PVP balance, rules, immersiveness, etc.
Necessary vocabulary: I term “settler” as always meaning “someone who was initiated upon in combat who was otherwise trying to be a cooperative fair minded buildetrader” and “raider” as always meaning “that guy who just stole or became physically aggressive and deserves to die.”

  1. The problem: There are two roles in PVP. There is the “initiator” aka “raider”. Then there is the “builde investo etc.” aka “settler”. This is engrained into the dynamic of post-apocalyptic dystopia. Those who work incredibly hard to create, build, maintain vs those who are desperate and devolve into greed. Now, the roles are not the problem. The imbalance and dis-immersion between them is. You might say “well those roles are made up” and yes they are, but your in-game workshops have one function: they attract people who want to build at them. Then the people who build at them attract people who want to kill them. Simple. You are either the first person, a settler, or the second, a raider. All pvp, even my proposal which has PVP always on, should be separated into these two roles. Initatior means raider. The surprised party means settler.
a. The dynamic: There is little balance in the way of fairness for settlers and raiders. The rules/mechanics of the game are constantly being meta-gamed to try and gain a upper hand. This makes it so players who give no fucks about immersion make sure other players who like immersion have none.
b. The balance of both combat and rewards HEAVILY favors the initiator or “raider”.
c. The existence of weapons in the game that are no longer available heavily favors older players and not newer ones. This severely hinders your games ability to grow it’s playerbase.
  1. The solutions: Overall, there needs to be A LOT of brand new mechanics introduced to mediate the difference between settlers and raiders. Players who play cooperatively vs those who play to win. These mechanics will simulate the “real life” consequences you would have for your actions. Settlers get bonuses for working together. Raiders get financial rewards for ruthlessness. Long term investment, or short term gain. The player decides. Here is how.
a. Mechanic Zero: Spirit of PVP
i. All PVP should be separated into who is a settler and who is a raider (initator). Raiders get short term gain, items, loot, etc.. Settlers get long term gain, such as XP, etc. The classes should each gain what they “want” from victory and lose what they “want” from defeat.
ii. Since Initiating is so heavily favored in general by the limits of the game technology, err on the side of the person/people who do not initiate in balancing rewards.
b. Mechanic One: The PVP Karma bar.
i. There shall be a permanent, account bound karma function of human interactions that affects several elements of in-game functions. This karma bar influences all buffs and debuffs a player receives the more they perform the function of their karma. E.g. if a player behaves like a settler, they become more settlery. If they behave more like a raider, they become more raidery. These buffs could also be scaled for intensity, the more you help people, the better you are at it. Etc. It should be a public icon that people can see at all times – to know if you can be trusted.
ii. Potential Buffs: Settler
  1. Reduced damage upon being intitated upon for a limited time
  2. Bonus XP and Caps from defending others who are not yourself
  3. Game-Wide XP gain boost.
  4. Reduced buy-in to continue “doubling down” see 2c
  5. Max Rank: Ability to Ignore all PVP initation (Essentially, for you, you are a passive mode player until you decide to defend).
  6. “Trust” - Reduced Game Taxes/ prices from vendors
iii. Potential Debuffs: Settler
  1. Less initiation PVP damage (could also be seen as a buff, for incidental “friendly fire”).
iv. Potential Buffs: Raider
  1. Bonus game generated loot from PVP kills: Chems, ammo, food, etc.
  2. Sizing people up: Ability to view another players inventory
  3. Carry Weight
  4. Max Rank: Ability to destroy CAMP’s without player being nearby.
v. Potential Debuffs: Raider
  1. Slightly increased damage to other players for initiating. (Initiating combat already has a massive bonus-the element of surprise- for playability this needs to be VERY minimal).
  2. “Distrust” - Increased game taxes, prices from vendors
c. Mechanic Two: The PVP Initiation Ranking.
i. The more often a player initiates in PVP, either to defend as a settler or to attack as a raider, they will climb an invisible ladder. That ladder will determine server placement. E.g. build into the system whenever anyone enters the game, they be placed with people who are roughly just as interested in PVP as they are. This will make the game more playable for everyone.
d. Mechanic Three: PVP Overheat/ Investment / Doubling down
i. PVP in the streets should be reinstated. It makes the game fun, and charming. The rules should be balanced in such a way that every player should somewhat fear the potential for danger in other humans (since that is what the post apocalypse is) but also any kind of behavior that ultimately detracts from that experience is either impossible or heavily disadvantaged.
ii. Simply put: Decide how often a player can initiate a fight with another player. Keep the revenge system, allow the players to really fight it out by constantly respawning and coming back for more. However, the fight should become more and more costly to both parties as it drags on. This needs to be a “poker” type mechanic, where each player is trying to call the other’s bluff. Like the system currently in place, the losing player loses some of their investment to the winner.
iii. The player who initiates PVP cannot re-initiate PVP for some time. This prevents a lot of negative behavior that works more to harm the game experience. Give this a debuff with a lore-friendly name: Catatonic Nerves?
iv. Doubling down – the act of investing should make sense based on who was the raidesettler. The raider has to invest XP, since they have need for money. The settler likely has money/items, so this is what they invest. If the settler wins, they get what they want – Some delicious raider XP. If the Raider wins, they get what they want – Some yummy items/caps/chems.
  1. The rewards can and should scale infinitely as both players keep investing. Of course, the limitations are based on the game mechanics, and if someone cannot invest enough to “come back” then they “lose”.
e. Mechanic Four: The Bounty System
i. Take the current “Wanted” mechanic, but make it player controlled. Every time a player initiates PVP into Raider mode, and they win, the loser should have an option to post a bounty. This bounty can be any item, caps, or tradeable thing. Keep an aggregated list of the raider’s bounties in question. Not unlike a vendor – hovering over a bountied person shows a pane of all the items you will get for killing that person. Or perhaps, split amongst a squad that goes to kill that person.
ii. Mechanic Four and a half: Bring back the fallout 3 karma mercenaries. Get too settlery and raider badasses hunt you. Too raidery and settler badasses hunt you. Too many bounties on you and even more settler NPC’s hunt you.
f. Mechanic Five: Raider In-fighting
i. Power struggles in the raider order? Oh yes please. Anyone with raider karma should be able to “call out” another raider for fight in an arena. To the death, with a “bet” of raider karma. The raider who wins, gets the loser’s karma. Allowing the most ruthless of raiders to rapidly go to one end of the raider karma scale.
g. Mechanic Six: When a Settler has had Enough
i. Each time a settler is initiated upon and has another unique interaction of being bothered, a scaling time-based buff gets stronger and stronger. This buff is visible to all players, makes them damn-near immune to being initiated upon and deal awesome damage to anyone who tries. This will give players who are getting their shit kicked in a chance to enjoy the game. This buff is lost if they initiate. This will also prevent mob/bullying behavior.
h. Mechanic Seven: Raw deal
i. A PVP interaction can be initiated when a player decides to “swindle” another player during a direct trade. This action causes the defender to lose a game determined amount of caps (something insignificant that scales with raider buff and the amount of caps the settler has, say 10 – 100 caps?).
ii. This immediately makes the two hostile, and counts as an initiation.
i. Mechanic Eight: Settler vs. Raider wars.
i. Any settler under attack can have help arrive for them without asking for it. When a settler joins the battle, a raider may also join the raider side. The raider number cannot exceed the settler number, lest you get mob bullying behavior.
j. Mechanic Nine: Mutual Combat
i. Two players who have a disagreement agree to fight. Neither is an imitator and this does not affect PVP rank, karma, or engagement.
ii. Could put in a boxing ring, MMA octagon, and many other cool camp things with the ability to place bets on players. Host fun digital social gatherings with friends.
k. Mechanic Ten: The GECK Server Relaunch
i. Of course, all of these would be nested on an entirely new branch of the game, not unlike you have already done with other ideas. A new server. In this new server, you reawaken, inside the vault, as if everything you saw before was a dream. Or maybe this is a dream… Duh Duh DDUUUUUUUHH.
ii. Kidding aside, you could say there is a lore-friendly alternative simulated reality that gave birth to this new PVP enabled world. It’s your game, so you decide if that’s an important detail.
iii. Another thing: This is absolutely necessary for a PVP-always-on function, which is how I imagine this entire thing being. Because, like stated, you want to somewhat fear each human, but somewhat hope that each human will be willing to work together with you. There has to be a relaunch to make the pvp fair, by excluding legacy weapons.
iv. Individual characters should be kept. All items and levels are lost, but general unlocks and “knowledge” is kept. This is compatible in a lore friendly way with the whole “GECK” idea/ the dream thing from Fallout 4.
v. Simply put, you set all of the levels to each character back to one, let them keep any unlocks/plans/recipes and quest progress, lose all of the items. This way, your old players still want to play because they do not have to go spend 6 months maxing out their reputations again, and new players will be excited about benefiting from the new mechanic. Everyone wins – which means maximum numbers of new players installing the game and spending money in the atom shop.
To whoever reads this, thanks for staying for so long despite this dragging on. I love the Fallout franchise, I love my postapocalpse survival simulator. I love games that have building and sandboxes in them. I loved the idea of what this game could be, and I still love the idea of what it will become.
